Why Son Shine?

Son Shine Day Care Center is a small center which provides more one on one interaction than the average daycare . 
We believe in the biblical principle that we must “train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not stray from it,” Proverbs 22:6. 

Being directly affiliated with Calvary Assembly of God and its ministry we strive to incorporate biblical teachings into our curriculum through memory verses, Bible songs, Bible stories and prayer before meals and snack. Son Shine teaches life skills such as cooperation, kindness, compassion, respect, and doing our best work.

We also believe that preschool is a child’s first stepping stone into a love of learning. Following Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards Son Shine’s teachers combine learning experiences and structured play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Teaching in areas such as pre-writing and pre-reading skills, introductory math, science and social studies at age-appropriate levels, our students are well prepared when they finally venture off to kindergarten.

One thing you will find at Son Shine is that our teachers genuinely love the children and understand that Son Shine is a “home away from home”. We encourage parent interaction with the teachers and work together to create the most pleasant experience for our children while they are away from their mommies and daddies. We link parents to what their children are learning at school through monthly calendars, parent bulletin boards, our Shutterfly web albums and open parent-teacher communications. Our teachers and staff strive to make our children feel safe, loved, comfortable and confident. They want to be here to learn and play and we want them here too.
